A dispositif for recording the sunset on the edge of the former Soviet empire and at the extreme northern point of the fossil fuel civilization was built as a result of an expedition: in the project, the artist addresses the topic of borders and such a type of thinking as a tourist-explorer - a figure of fantasy about overcoming borders and a form of knowledge , which creates a place amateurishly, through a series of misconceptions found in the reconstruction of the view towards the north. When moving to this point, it turns out that it is impossible to reach it: it flickers in different versions and stories, slips away, becomes an effect, always someone else's record of events that did not happen to you.
A typical building on the edge of the lands developed by the Soviet empire is presumably a kindergarten, the construction of which stopped before the settlement was abandoned completely contrary to official development plans. The building is located at an angle of 60 ° to the south-north axis, and is located beyond the border crossing: beyond the line of the Arctic Circle, beyond the line of central time, beyond the border of a double continent, beyond the land before development, on the edge of the city, beyond the north. The two parts of the performance are futile attempts to catch the sunset on July 12, 2021. The true sunset is happening the day after tomorrow.
